Information the App Processes

The Erupción app does not collect personal data. With your permission, it processes your current location on your device to center the map and calculate distance to reported volcanic activity. Your location is not transmitted to Erupción servers.

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Account credentials
• Precise location history
• Advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers
• App analytics or usage profiles

Public Activity Data

Your device connects directly to NASA's public Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker (EONET) to retrieve volcanic activity reports. Reports can be incomplete, delayed, or revised. Original reporting sources are linked within the app.

Website

The Erupción website does not require an account, run advertising, use analytics cookies, or collect information through forms. Standard server logs may temporarily contain technical request details needed to operate and secure the website.

Local Storage

Feed preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user profiles or store app preferences on external servers.

Children's Privacy

Erupción does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for a general audience and requires no account.

Safety

Erupción is an informational viewer, not an eruption warning, prediction, official alert-level, or emergency notification service. For hazards and safety instructions, follow the responsible local volcano observatory and emergency authorities.
